Core Concepts
Understand the building blocks of clienwork.
Workspace
A workspace is your team's home. It contains all projects, team members, and clients.
- Each workspace has a unique subdomain
- Billing and plans are per workspace
- Team members can belong to multiple workspaces
Projects
Projects organize work for a specific client or initiative.
- Custom statuses per project
- Client visibility settings
- Request and issue tracking
Requests
Requests are what clients ask for. They're the starting point of work.
Requests move through project-defined statuses (your team can rename and reorder them).
- Submitted by clients or team members
- Can be broken into work items
- Comments can be internal or client-visible
Work Items
Work items are the actual tasks to complete a request.
- Assigned to team members
- Tracked independently
- Roll up to request progress
Issues
Issues track technical work, often linked to GitHub.
- Can be linked to GitHub Issues
- Separate from client-facing requests
- Used for internal tracking
Clients
Clients have limited access to view and submit requests.
- Portal-only access
- See only assigned projects
- Cannot see internal comments or issues
Team Members
Team members are your internal staff.
Roles:
- Owner — Full access, billing
- Admin — Manage team and settings
- Member — Create and manage work
