Creating Requests

Learn how to create and manage requests.

Quick Add

Use Quick Add to create a request (or issue) from anywhere.

  1. Open Quick Add
  2. Choose a project
  3. Enter a title (and optional description)
  4. Optionally set Due Date
  5. Optionally set a Recurring schedule (for repeating work)

From the Dashboard

  1. Click New Request button
  2. Select a project
  3. Enter title and description
  4. Set priority and due date (optional)
  5. Assign to a team member

From the Client Portal

Clients can submit requests directly:

  1. Client logs into their portal
  2. Selects the project
  3. Fills out the request form
  4. Request appears in your inbox

Via Email

With email inbound configured:

  1. Client sends email to your project address
  2. Email automatically creates a request
  3. Attachments are preserved
  4. Reply threads sync to comments

Via Slack

Using the Slack integration:

/clienwork request "Fix homepage banner" --project acme-corp

Request Fields

Best Practices

  • Write clear, actionable titles
  • Include context in the description
  • Set realistic due dates
  • Break large requests into work items
