Email Inbound

Turn incoming emails into requests automatically.

How It Works

  1. Client sends email to project address
  2. Email parsed and request created
  3. Attachments preserved
  4. Replies sync as comments

Project Email Address

Each project gets an address:

{project-slug}@inbound.clienwork.com

Or configure a custom domain.

Email Parsing

Subject → Title

Email subject becomes request title.

Body → Description

Email body becomes description with formatting preserved.

Attachments

Files attached to the email are uploaded to the request.

Sender

Matched to existing client or creates new contact.

Reply Threading

When you reply from clienwork:

  • Client receives email response
  • Their replies come back as comments
  • Full conversation history preserved

Spam Filtering

Built-in protection:

  • Domain allowlist
  • Known sender preference
  • Spam score threshold
  • Manual review queue

Setup

  1. Go to Settings → Email
  2. Enable inbound email
  3. Note your project addresses
  4. Share with clients

Configuration

| Setting | Description | |---------|-------------| | Auto-create clients | New senders become clients | | Default project | Fallback for unmatched | | Allowlist domains | Trusted sender domains |
